Perth electronic producer ShockOne (AKA Karl Thomas) today shares his brand new single and video for Run. Featuring a collaboration with electronic heavyweight The Bloody Beetroots and premiered on triple j Good Nights on Wednesday, Run is the latest taste from his highly anticipated album A Dark Machine, out on 2nd August and now available to pre-order HERE.

The track is accompanied by an incredible cinematic sci-fi experience video directed, shot and produced by Matsu and No Labels Media, who were also the brains behind visuals for Bleed Black and A Dark Machine

Over thirteen propulsive and atmospheric tracks, with features from the likes of his real life sister and vocalist Reija LeeCecil, Cruz Patterson and producers Ekko and Sidetrack, ShockOne builds a woozy dystopia and unfurls a story about confronting the darkest parts of ourselves. It’s not just a concept album but a whole world for the listener to step inside of. A Dark Machine tips its hat to ‘80s sci-fi films like Blade Runner and Beyond the Black Rainbow, drawing inspiration from the soundtracks of producers like Giorgio Moroder, Vangelis and the scores to old school slasher flicks from John Carpenter.

A Dark Machine is the follow-up to 2013’s debut album Universus, which spawned the hits Light Cycles, Home and Chaos Theory. ShockOne’s decade-long career also includes the drum and bass classic Polygon and 2016’s In This Light EP. With A Dark Machine, Karl Thomas has created his best, most realised music yet.
